Meet Christy and Terence…

Owners of Quality Remodeling and Partners in Business… and Life!

Together, they run a top-notch remodeling firm. They are raising two kids and loving life… even when it gets tough!

Christy has been working in the construction business for almost 25 years.  She bought the company in 2004 and has been completing amazing projects and delivering customer experiences that go way beyond expectations ever since.

Terence came on board in 2017 with management experience and on track to own his own restaurant.  He found himself impressed with Christy’s business model, and after some consideration, accepted her offer to join the business.

They both see the business as a way to remain involved and give back to the community.  Terence is active as a Free Mason and volunteers with Be More Caring, which provides comfort to those living on the street.  They both volunteer and support Burgers and Bands for Suicide Prevention and Sarah’s House, a part of Catholic Charities. Sarah’s House serves as a women’s shelter on Fort Meade.

When we asked them about the business, and about each other, here’s what we learned:

Christy on Terence:

In Business-

“Having Terence involved in the business is amazing.  He is a networker, an organizer, and handles the technical stuff… and these are his strengths.

He’s a great listener and helps to figure stuff out and work towards resolutions.”

Family Life-

“It’s sometimes hard to move from the Boss Lady job to Mommy mode. Still, working together, the business allows the opportunity for one of them to be there when needed.”

Challenges of Working Together-

“Never having had a partner before, learning to work with and listen to suggestions instead of working unilaterally. Learning to explain her position and accept changes based on new information or insight.”

Terence on Christy:

In Business-

“Christy is his idol!  He looks up to her and is constantly impressed by her knowledge base in the remodeling and construction industry.”

Family Life-

“It’s great to have a partner! Being together has helped them both realize the value of family. Terence appreciates having the opportunity to create so many memories…”

Challenges of Working Together-

“As Christy will admit, she was used to making all the decisions before Terence came into her life. It was hard to change the status quo, and getting results without a fight can be a challenge, but they’ve both learned diplomacy by working together.”
